Erasmus-Trip to Sicily
This November five students and three teachers of our school travelled to Sicily for one week as part of the Erasmus+ exchange programme. Our school participates in this programme alongside schools from Lithuania, Turkey and Italy. Last May the other participants had come to Vienna and now it was Italy’s turn to host the meeting. We students stayed with the families of the Italian girls who had visited Vienna in spring. This way we got a glimpse of local life in Sicily.
Every day we visited different towns in the region, such as Agira, Enna, Catania and Taormina where we saw popular landmarks, beautiful sceneries and even a volcano. The students showed us around and always knew where to go and what to see. We also spent some time at the schools in Enna and Agira to experience a typical day at school in Italy. We tasted delicious food typical for the region (our favourite were Arancini) and learned a lot about the culture. It was great to make new friends from other countries, as we were just a small group of people from our school and quickly got along with everyone. But it was of course nice to see some old friends again as well.
This week was truly unforgettable!
