Discovering Ireland

Once upon a time, 32 hopeful Viennese students and their 3 teachers went out into the world to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. After magically crossing the continent on eagle’s wings, they safely landed in Bré upon the Eireann Sea, and took shelter with the friendly locals, enjoying their famed Irish hospitaly, feasting on stew, mash, innumerable sandwiches, and clear spring water (or in the case of the adults, its derivatives, heavenly darkbrown Guiness or divine golden Bushmills). ’On the one road’, in true Eireann spirit, they courageously tackled all the reqired quests and completed all missions (im)possible wildes Irish dancing; immer wieder Bowling; Trinity College-Molly Malone-Grafton Street-Dublinia-Christ Church-Temple Bar-Ha’penny Bridge-Millennium Spire-GPO-Shoppen in der O’Connell Street-nix trinken nur schauen in der Guiness Brewery & Jameson Distillery-wetten oder auch nicht beim Greyhound Racing; Irish History von St. Patrick über Easter Rising bis EU-Vorsitz; kurzweiliger Unterricht mit native speakers, lustig Radiosendungen fabrizieren; Bray Head bei Tag oder auch Nacht; Eis schlecken und Steine sammeln am Strand; blühender Ginster und Cliff Walk nach Greystones; Blüten- und Statuen-geschmückte Powerscourt Gardens; herrliche Wicklow Mountains, 40 shades of green, Ruinen und irische Kreuze in Glendalough; Fáilte! – Sláinte! – and finally Slán leat! After successfully fighting the dragon (of Irish English) and living through various adventures known and unknown, our heroes and heroines safely arrived back home and lived happily ever after ... in Simmering!
